triaTHlon THursday

Swimming thirty lengths in the pool no longer seems like a lot. Who just typed that? A few more weeks of doing a weekly “sprint distance” (1/2 mile swim, 3.1 mile run and 12.4 mile bike ride) triathlon, and I’ll be moving up to the ‘Olympic distance” (twice the distances). I know I’m almost ready for the swim and bike distances, I just have to wait for my running to catch up.

I was looking at my training schedule and I got nervous about how ambitious it is, then I get excited about how ambitious it is. Eventually triaTHlon THursday is going to turn into 1/2 ironman Thursday. I have 8 of them planned. Overall the total projected distances from now until that day in November are: 500+ miles run, 3800+ miles biked and 30+ miles swam. Those numbers seem HUGE, exciting, but most importantly…attainable.

Back to reality, every week I do a triathlon. So if anyone every wonders why I didn’t sign up for some short races before committing to the ironman, it’s because I do them every week. I just don’t have to pay for them.
