If I can just get past the first mile

I’m not sure if it’s boredom or what, but the first mile every time I run is the toughest. I even had my best running tunes on this morning. My breathing is typically off, my stride is off and my arms are flailing over my head like a ghost on Scooby Doo (not the last one, but that would be funny to see).

The weird thing is, once I pass that first mile my body seems to adapt and I do something resembling running.  My pace picks up, my breathing is no longer labored and my arms stay straight, clinging to my sides (one of those was not the case either).

I wonder as I get more used to running if that feeling will subside. For now, I’m going to try to run that first mile fast, just to get it over with so I can start running.
