Should I stay or should I go?

Got home early from work, the rain is holding off, and it’s a nice cool night. Should I stay or should I go? I used the stationary bike this morning and have to get up early to workout again in the am. Should I stay or should I go? I only have 28 more weeks to train for the ironman. Should I stay or should I go? The National Weather Service just issued a flood watch for the area. Should I stay or should I go?

I’ll let you know in 45 minutes when I get back, which one I chose.

Tom, I am running my first marathon in January. My blog is also on the Times Herald site. Under the Reckless Runner. I enjoy reading your blog. If you have any marathon tips for me, they would be greatly appreciaited.

Jaclyn, That’s Awesome!! Can’t wait to read about your progress. I found a really good book called Chi Running by Danny Dreyer that helped me. One of the main points that I constantly think about is putting my feet directly below me when I run. Sounds goofy,I know. I have a tendency to extend my legs out in front (trying to run faster), which I think caused shin splints. Putting your legs in front of your body is like hitting the brake with every step. Over the many miles you have in front of you, that’s a lot of braking. Another point is not to overtrain. I did that too. Make sure every third or fourth week, you limit the amount of running you do. Good Luck and keep going!
