One Mile!

Today’s triaTHLon THursday had me swimming longer than I ever have before. That distance… (look at the title above) ONE MILE! As my brother Steve would put it…. “WOOOOOOOHOOOOO”! The farthest I’ve ever gone before was 1/2 mile. I credit the ability to do it to another video I saw on YouTube. The coach recommended to pretend your arms are on tracks. That thought kept my body rotation directly behind my leading arm and kept me from over rotating. The technique is in line with Total Immersion swimming (video linked on the On Swimming page at the top of this page). I’m going to keep that in my (waterproof) bag of tricks.

That’s not all for TH TH! The bike ride was longer than I’ve ever gone on TH TH too. The 18 miles took just less than an hour (I mean like seconds less). It wasn’t my fastest, but that didn’t matter, because I just swam ONE MILE!

To round out triaTHlon THursday, I ran 3 miles in heat and muggy weather (if you were out)(if you weren’t out….it was almost unbearable and can’t believe I survived). I didn’t run very fast, but that didn’t matter, because I just swam ONE MILE!

I’m going to walk around the rest of the day with my head held high, because …….. I have good posture….and because I Just Swam ONE MILE!
