midnight ride

Since it’s been so beautiful out at night, I decided to get lights for my bike (the rear light was donated by Alex…Thanks Alex!) and take a ride when the sun went down. I was pretty conscious of how bright my light was and kept it turned to the ground a few feet in front of me. When I was on the path in the past and someone had a headlight for their bike, it was almost blinding because I couldn’t see anything else as they were coming toward me. I didn’t get a super bright head light to see the path anyway, so why shine it in someone’s eyes? That was my thinking anyway…..until I noticed not one single person (and there were quite a few) turned their light down as they saw someone else (me) coming. So I was immediately transported to Rome and wished I bought a brighter light. I don’t know how effective my light was at blinding the last poor people I passed, but the ride wasn’t as fun as I wished. Next time I go out at night, I hit the side streets…..
