What’s possible?

My usual answer… Anything is possible. No really, what’s possible? Anything. Seriously now, what’s possible? Anything.

What’s probable is something different entirely. I was looking at the race results from Ford Ironman Arizona for various years to see where the top five finishers in my age group came in at. Then I expanded it to the top 10. That would be pretty cool if I could finish that quickly and be in the top ten, but I’m looking more in the top 100. How many are there anyway? It’s not like I’m racing them or even racing anyone really. My goal is to finish. Until of course I get out there.

My mind goes from what’s probable to what’s possible faster than my dog’s ears perk up when I say walk. He’s currently in Arizona and somehow just heard me type that. Coming back to reality, I’m not sure what is probable at this point. I’ll probably finish the event, but anything else, as far as what time I finish….it’s anyone’s guess. The line in Vegas is 11 hours.

As I get closer to the event, I’ll have a better gauge of what’s probable and an even more screwed up version of what’s possible.

  • I thought I heard someone say, “Walk.”

Keep it up, Tom. I know it may feel screwed up now, but it’s all starting to come together. I’m sorry I can’t be there for you right now, but it was time I let you get to your training and not worry about me for awhile. I’ll be waiting here in AZ to cheer you on across the finish line in November.

    Can’t wait to see you!
