What a difference a _______ makes.

Fill in the blank: week, good sleep, good meal, good attitude, decision. Yesterday I was fortunate enough to be able to take a few hours (almost 3) to ride my bike. The same time last week, I did the same thing. The only differences were it was a week later, I had a good sleep the night before, proper nourishment, a better attitude and I decided how far I was going this time. Minor details that add up to a much more enjoyable experience. If I lacked just one of those ingredients, my ride would have been totally different.

It was a perfect Sunday, warm but not hot, breezy but not obnoxiously so. I took the trail from Conshy to Philly (It’s just over 11 miles to the art museum). The Schuylkill trail ends at Locust St which isn’t too much further mile wise. So I took to the streets of Philly. Being Easter Sunday, not too many people were on the road and I went from river to river, eventually winding around to the Ben Franklin Bridge. That was about 16 miles (still not half way to my goal). I came up Arch St. past City Hall and turned left on 23rd. Found my back to Locust St. and back to the trail. Details, details…

All told, I made my 40 mile trip in less than 3 hours. I still felt fine all day afterward. What a difference from __________.
